Part 1 - Lingerie Demystified
The world of lingerie can be both exciting and very confusing - baby dolls, chemises, tangas and waspies - what does it all mean?
We have listed a few pieces in our lingerie glossary with illustrations and definitions to help you sort out what's whats in a woman's closet!
The Balconette Bra - The bra which sits across the breasts on a straight line acting as a balcony.

The Plunge Bra - The bra with a very low 'plunging' neckline also to show off cleavage.

The Triangle Bra - It has triangle shaped cups, (which is kind of obvious) and most triangle bras don't have underwiring for support.

The Boy Short - A short style feminine floaty and comfortable pant. Boy Shorts looks great teamed with a cami or bra.

The Camisole - The Camisole is very popular as both daywear or nightwear.

The Chemise - A looser version of the camisole, extends to top of thigh, worn as nightwear.

The Babydoll - The Babydoll is a really short nightgown that hits at the top of the hip. It usually ties or clasps at the bust and the rest of the fabric "floats" away from the body.

The Bustier - Bustiers are form fitting tops that usually fasten in the back and accentuate the bust. Often worn as outerwear also. Many are strapless and attach to stockings or garter belt.

The Corset - Tighter, stronger bustiers. The Corset has boning that goes over the bodice and is laced or hooked in the back. It can have an underwire cup or be flat. Corsets traditionally are tightly cinched at the waist to give the wearer a noticeable hourglass figure, but they can also be laced loosely and worn as a regular top.

We hope we have enlighten you and maybe answered a question or two. In Part 2 we will identify and steer you clear of the most common pitfalls men encounter when purchasing a lingerie gift. Stay tuned.
